Dartmouth Engineer received the following letter from Prue Larsen:

I am the daughter of Charles Kingsley, who was a visiting professor at Thayer School for 2 years, 1953-1954 and 1954-1955. I have many happy memories of those 2 years when I was a child in Hanover. (And I am thrilled that my daughter has just moved to Hanover and is now teaching at Hanover High.)

Several months ago, I received from a friend a copy of the page “Just One Question” from the Winter 2008 issue of the Dartmouth Engineer. It includes a wonderful anecdote featuring my father, submitted by Randy Cooper Th’54. It is amazing luck that after all these years I received this glimpse from the past out of my father’s short and happy tenure at Dartmouth. Luck also that I have a friend, my own contemporary, who is a graduate of Thayer School and that this friend knew my maiden name and recognized that this story would have meaning to me.

I would like Randy Cooper to know that his submission reached me and brought a smile to my lips.
